Luke 18:13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ ”

The story of the tax collector who stood at a distance is a powerful reminder that God is more interested in our humility than our outward appearances. The tax collector, a despised figure in his society, knew that he was a sinner and came to God with a humble heart. In contrast, the Pharisee, who was considered to be a righteous man, prayed with pride and self-righteousness.

The lesson of this story is that God is not impressed by our outward appearances or our religious accomplishments. He is more interested in our hearts and our humility. If we come to God with a humble heart, He will be merciful to us.

누가복음 18장 13절 "세리는 멀리 서서 감히 눈을 들어 하늘을 우러러 보지도 못하고 다만 가슴을 치며 가로되 하나님이여 불쌍히 여기옵소서 나는 죄인이로소이다 하였느니라"

이 구절은 하나님께 기도하는 방법에 대한 가르침입니다. 세리는 자신이 죄인임을 인정하고 하나님께 기도합니다. 그는 자신의 죄악을 회개하고 하나님께 용서를 구합니다. 예수님은 이 세리의 기도를 들으시고 그를 칭찬하셨습니다.

이 구절은 오늘 우리에게도 기도의 중요성을 가르쳐줍니다. 우리가 하나님께 기도할 때 우리의 죄를 인정하고 회개해야 합니다. 우리는 하나님께 용서를 구하고 하나님의 자비를 의지해야 합니다. 우리가 이러한 마음으로 기도한다면 하나님께서는 우리의 기도를 들으시고 응답해 주실 것입니다.

우리 모두는 죄인입니다. 우리는 누구나 실수를 하고 잘못을 저지릅니다. 하지만 하나님께서는 우리를 용서하실 수 있습니다. 우리가 진심으로 회개하고 용서를 구한다면 하나님께서는 우리를 받아주시고 우리를 새롭게 하실 것입니다.

죄인도 용서 받을 수 있다는 사실을 기억하고, 하나님께 기도하시기 바랍니다. 하나님께서는 우리의 기도를 들으시고 우리를 용서하실 것입니다. -진주충만
