Deuteronomy 1:33 "Who went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to show you by what way ye should go, and in a cloud by day."


God went before the Israelites in the wilderness, leading them through the darkness and showing them the way. He was their guide and their protector, and he never left them or forsake them.

In the same way, God goes before us today. He is our guide through the challenges of life, and he will never leave us or forsake us. We can trust him to lead us and to show us the way.

"Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time?" (Matthew 24:45)

"And through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross."

The story of the tax collector who stood at a distance is a powerful reminder that God is more interested in our humility than our outward appearances. The tax collector, a despised figure in his society, knew that he was a sinner and came to God with a humble heart. In contrast, the Pharisee, who was considered to be a righteous man, prayed with pride and self-righteousness.

The lesson of this story is that God is not impressed by our outward appearances or our religious accomplishments. He is more interested in our hearts and our humility. If we come to God with a humble heart, He will be merciful to us.
