"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock."
This verse is part of a parable that Jesus tells about two builders, one who builds his house on sand and one who builds his house on rock. The house on sand collapses when the storm comes, but the house on rock stands firm.
The lesson of this parable is that we should build our lives on the foundation of Jesus' words. If we do this, we will be able to withstand the storms of life.
