Colossians 1:20 Meditation

Kim Pastor's Word Meditation] Colossians 1:20: 

"And through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross."

This verse is part of a larger passage in which the apostle Paul is explaining the significance of Jesus Christ's death and resurrection. He writes that through Jesus, God has made peace with all creation, both on earth and in heaven. This peace was made possible by the blood of Jesus, which was shed on the cross.

The phrase "to reconcile" means to bring two things into harmony or agreement. In this case, Paul is saying that through Jesus, God has brought all of creation into harmony with himself. This includes both humans and the rest of the natural world.
